Heartless Thieves Steal Laptop Packed with Dead Daughter’s Precious Photos
Detectives have launched a desperate appeal to recover a stolen laptop containing priceless pictures of a dead teenage girl. The theft happened during a break-in while her heartbroken mum was saying a final goodbye to her daughter, who had died just days earlier.
Raid During Tragic Farewell
On Thursday 23 November, between 10.45am and 1pm, burglars smashed their way into a home on Leybourne Avenue. They made off with a white Xbox One, an Apple MacBook Air, daisy Pandora earrings, and cash. The victim, Natalie Elbrow, 47, only discovered the burglary after returning from Julia’s House in Poole, where she had been mourning her 15-year-old daughter Daisy.
Daisy’s Brave Fight and Devastating Loss
Daisy tragically passed away at Poole Hospital on Sunday 19 November, five days after her 15th birthday, following a courageous seven-month battle with rare renal cell carcinoma. The cancer spread aggressively from her kidney to her spine, lungs, liver, and lymph nodes.
The Burghfield Academy pupil endured rounds of specialist chemotherapy and spent most of her time confined to hospital. The stolen MacBook and earrings both belonged to Daisy. The laptop was especially treasured—it had been funded through a hospital stroke unit raffle and a crowdfunding page in Daisy’s name.
Heartbroken mum Natalie said, “Daisy was a real fighter. She fought that cancer to the very end and was so brave. She spent more time in hospital than out, and that laptop meant everything to her—it gave her a lifeline to the outside world. It had all her things on it and all her photos. It meant so much to Daisy and I desperately want it back.”
Police Plea for Justice
Detective Sergeant Adam Woolman of Dorset Police condemned the callous crime. “This burglary happened while Natalie was saying goodbye to her late daughter. I’m sure everyone will be outraged. If anyone knows who is responsible or where the laptop is, please do the right thing by coming forward or handing it in at a police station.”
