Massive Fire Erupts on Hackney Road – Four Rescued
The London Fire Brigade sprang into action after the first of 18 urgent 999 calls came in at 6.57am this morning, alerting them to a flat fire on Hackney Road.
Eight Engines and 60 Firefighters Battle Blaze
A huge emergency response saw eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters rushed from stations including Bethnal Green, Shoreditch, Whitechapel, Shadwell, Dowgate, Homerton, Islington, and Dockhead.

The fire rapidly spread through the third, fourth, and fifth floors of the six-storey block, triggering a full-scale rescue operation.
Four People and a Dog Saved – No Injuries
- Four people and a dog were rescued using rescue ladders and fire escape hoods.
- One person was carried down by firefighters to safety.
- Thankfully, no injuries have been reported.
