Tragic Ryde Motorbike Crash Claims Rider’s Life

A motorcyclist has died following a serious crash in Ryde on the Isle of Wight in the early hours of Sunday morning.

Crash Scene Sealed Off

The collision happened at the St John’s Road traffic lights junction with Green Street, where the bike smashed into the corner of the former Baby Needs shop. Roads remain closed as emergency crews continue their work.

Debris litters the street, and a police forensic tent covers the wrecked motorbike. The scene remains under investigation.

Emergency Services Responded Quickly

Paramedics and police rushed to the scene just before 1.30am. Despite their best efforts, the rider was pronounced dead in hospital after the single-vehicle crash.

Police Launch Full Investigation

Mainland’s Collision Investigation Unit (COU) has been brought in for a detailed forensic examination. Officers from Hampshire Constabulary’s Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses.

They urge anyone who saw the crash or the motorcyclist before the incident to come forward. CCTV or dashcam footage would be especially valuable.
