The discovery came during a scheduled patrol with Trading Standards, targeting illicit tobacco sales. While checking an allegedly untaxed car nearby, police found it stacked with tobacco believed to be stored on behalf of a nearby newsagent.

Cigarettes and Car Seized as Investigation Continues

PC Liam Wolfe said: “The sale of illicit cigarettes not only damages honest businesses but also puts our community’s health at risk. Regulations exist to keep tobacco products safe and free from unregulated substances.”

He added: “Kent Police is committed to cracking down on illegal tobacco sales by working closely with partner agencies and bringing offenders to justice.”

Trading Standards are continuing their probe and will take firm action against the business once their investigation wraps up.
