A beloved biker has lost his life in a devastating crash on Clacton Road, Manningtree.

Heartbreaking Collision on Clacton Road

At around 3.45pm on Wednesday 8 April, emergency services rushed to the scene after a motorcycle collided with a car. Despite frantic efforts by paramedics, motorcyclist Lee Abbott, 48, from East Bergholt, was pronounced dead at the scene. The road remained closed for hours as investigators combed the area.

Family Pay Moving Tribute to Lee Abbott

Lee’s family revealed the Ipswich-born dad was a devoted son, partner, brother, uncle, and cousin who “lived life to the full.”

“Lee always bought the present you didn’t know you needed. He was always thoughtful and kind to everyone,” said his parents Jeff and Carol. “He will be truly missed by all that knew him.”

Known for his passion for motorcycling since his youth, Lee’s love for riding began with a track bike he used off-road.

Passenger Seriously Injured, Police Investigate

The pillion passenger on Lee’s bike was rushed to the hospital with serious but stable injuries. Essex Police are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage linked to the crash.
