Tragic Death of Barrow Man Stuart Garnet Shocks Local Community
Stuart Garnet, 44, tragically died after an incident on 12 May at around 12:55pm. The Barrow-born man was well-known locally and loved by many.

His family paid tribute, saying: “Stuart was a Barrow man through and through, who attended most of Barrow AFC’s home games when he could.” They added, “Stuart will be sorely missed by all those that worked with him and knew him.”
Stuart leaves behind his brother and mother, both also from the Barrow area.
Ongoing Investigation and Community Support
Cumbria Constabulary and the Health & Safety Executive are conducting a joint inquiry into the incident. Specialist officers are supporting Stuart’s family during this difficult time.
The family expressed gratitude for the outpouring of support they’ve received from the community.
