Emergency services were called to the Chase Leisure Centre on Stafford Road, Cannock, this afternoon following reports of a gas leak.

The incident, reported at 2:36pm, prompted a swift response from fire crews.
Authorities have not confirmed the cause of the gas leak, and investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for Staffordshire Fire and Rescue said:

“Our teams were called to a reported gas leak at Chase Leisure Centre. Safety is our top priority, and the centre was promptly evacuated while crews assessed the situation.”

The public is advised to avoid the area while emergency services complete safety checks. Chase Leisure Centre has temporarily suspended all services until it is deemed safe to reopen.
