Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) successfully extinguished a chimney fire at a residential property in Saltwood, Hythe, on Sunday afternoon. The incident was reported at 3:56 PM, prompting a swift response from emergency services.
Firefighting Efforts
Three fire engines and a specialist height vehicle were deployed to the scene. Firefighters utilized chimney gear and high-pressure hose reel jets to bring the fire under control. The operation was concluded by 7:18 PM.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and the fire is believed to have been caused accidentally.
Safety Reminder
Following the incident, KFRS issued a reminder to residents about the importance of regular chimney maintenance. A build-up of debris and soot can significantly increase the risk of fires.
