A large-scale rescue operation was launched near the South Foreland Lighthouse this afternoon after reports of a woman in distress on the cliffs. The incident occurred around 3:30 pm on Friday when a concerned member of the public contacted the Coastguard.
Multiple emergency services were scrambled to the scene, including a Coastguard rescue helicopter, the All Weather Lifeboat from Dover, and Coastguard teams from Deal and Langdon. Additionally, the South East Coast Ambulance Service dispatched an ambulance and their specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to assist with the rescue.
