BBC One’s flagship soap EastEnders will face a temporary scheduling shake-up as the channel shifts its focus to Wimbledon 2025 from Monday, June 30 to Sunday, July 13.
To accommodate daily coverage of the tennis championship, EastEnders will move from BBC One to BBC Two and will air only on Monday and Tuesday during the first week of the tournament — but with double episodes on both nights.
Wimbledon Takes Priority – Fans React
Fans have taken to Reddit to discuss the changes, with mixed reactions. One user joked:
“The temptation to watch the doubles on Monday and Tuesday will be too much, but then what on earth do we do with ourselves for five days?”
Others were more concerned about BBC iPlayer release times, with several hoping the usual 6am drops remain in place.
Despite some frustration, many accepted the change as a necessary compromise to keep both sports and soap fans satisfied.
“All you have to do is switch to BBC Two. It’s better than skipping episodes,” one viewer noted.
