Emergency Services Attended The Scene And The Victim, A Man Aged In His 20s Was Taken To Norfolk And Norwich University Hospital For Treatment

Police are investigating a serious assault in Norwich in the early hours of Saturday 19 March 2022

Officers were called to St Vedast Street shortly before 2.30am following reports that a man had been assaulted.

Emergency services attended the scene and the victim, a man aged in his 20s was taken to Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital for treatment. He was later transferred to Addenbrookes Hospital where he remains with life-threatening injuries.

Two men, one aged in his late teens and the other aged in his 20s were arrested this afternoon (Saturday 19 March) on suspicion of Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH). They were both taken to Wymondham Police Investigation Centre for questioning.

A police cordon was put in place at the location. This was removed shortly before 3.40pm today and enquiries are ongoing.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to come forward. They are particularly keen to speak with anyone who was in the St Vedast Street area of Norwich between 2.10am and 2.30am this morning.
