Firefighters worked late into the night to tackle a blaze at an educational facility in Kingston upon Thames. Crews from London Fire Brigade Kingston were called to Kingston University’s Avionics Building, where a fire had broken out.
The incident was brought under control swiftly, and there were no reported casualties.
Specialist investigation teams are now working to determine the cause of the fire, which occurred late on Tuesday, November 26.
A spokesperson for London Fire Brigade Kingston said:
Our crews worked hard to ensure the fire was contained quickly and safely. Thanks to their efforts, there were no injuries reported, and the scene was made safe for further investigation.”
The Avionics Building is part of Kingston University’s state-of-the-art facilities for aerospace and engineering studies.
While the fire caused disruption on campus, university authorities have assured students and staff that plans are in place to minimize the impact on teaching and research activities.
