Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a fire in the basement of a pub in Middle Row, Maidstone. Three fire engines attended, and crews wearing breathing apparatus investigated, however, the fire was out. Firefighters used a high-pressure fan to clear the smoke-logged property. Kent Police also attended.

There were no reported injuries, and the cause is believed to be accidental and linked to an electrical fault.
