Firefighters Tackle Bedroom Blaze in Broadstairs

Fire crews were called to the scene of a bedroom fire in Broadstairs this afternoon, prompting a swift emergency response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

The incident was reported at 15:16 on Tuesday, March 18, at a property on Hugin Avenue, Broadstairs. Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene.

Firefighters, equipped with personal protective equipment (PPE) and breathing apparatus, used high-pressure hose reel jets to bring the fire under control and extinguish the flames.

Fortunately, no injuries have been reported. The occupants of the property have been offered assistance and support by the British Red Cross Volunteer Rapid Response Team, who also attended the scene.

A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said:

“Crews worked quickly and effectively to extinguish a fire located in a bedroom. The cause of the fire is currently unknown, and investigations are ongoing.”

The incident was brought under control by 15:34, and fire crews have since left the scene.

Residents in the area are being reminded to ensure working smoke alarms are fitted in every home and to test them regularly.
