Firefighters Tackle Large Woodland Blaze Near Hawkhurst, Cranbrook

A significant woodland fire broke out near Park Lane in Hawkhurst, Cranbrook this evening, prompting a major response from Kent Fire and Rescue Service.

Crews were first called to the scene at 6:29pm. Five fire engines and a bulk water carrier were deployed, supported by specialist equipment including beaters, drag rakes, and main water jets.
Residents in the Tunbridge Wells and Cranbrook area are reminded to report signs of smoke or fire immediately and to avoid discarding cigarettes or glass in wooded areas.
