Gas Leak in Herne Bay After Vehicle Strikes Pipeline – Emergency Services Respond – UKNIP

Emergency services have rushed to the scene of a gas leak in Herne Bay this afternoon after a vehicle struck a gas pipeline, causing a significant leak.

The incident occurred at around 4:36pm on Bullockstone Road, where a car reportedly collided with the gas infrastructure. Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) quickly deployed two fire engines to the location and are working alongside Kent Police, a gas safety engineer, and the South East Coast Ambulance Service Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) to manage the scene.

Precautionary Evacuations

As a safety measure, one residential property and a nearby caravan site have been evacuated while crews work to contain the leak and assess the full extent of the damage. Residents in the area have reported a strong smell of gas, but authorities have assured the public that the situation is under control.
