West Midlands Police are appealing for public assistance after a firearm was discharged during a violent altercation in Aston, Birmingham on Saturday.
The disturbance occurred at the intersection of Witton Road and Endicott Road shortly after 7.45pm on October 12, 2024. Upon arrival, police found that those involved had already fled the scene. However, evidence recovered at the location confirmed that a gun had been fired during the incident.
In what appears to be a related event, a 21-year-old man later sought treatment at a local hospital for non-life-threatening stab wounds. Following initial inquiries, police suspect the individual was involved in the earlier disorder. He has since been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder and is currently being questioned by authorities.
While no other injuries have been reported at this time, police have increased patrols in the area to reassure local residents.
Authorities are urging anyone with information, particularly those who may have dashcam footage from the area at the time of the incident, to come forward. Members of the public can contact West Midlands Police via their website’s Live Chat feature or by calling 101, quoting log 4036 of 12/10/24.
