Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to a large garden fire on Sandown Road in Gravesend just before midnight on Saturday, 31 May, after flames from a discarded wood-chipping cooking tray ignited a bin and spread to a home’s exterior.
The fire, which broke out at 11:59 PM, prompted a swift emergency response. Two fire engines attended the scene and crews in breathing apparatus used high-pressure hose reel jets to bring the blaze under control by 12:31 AM on Sunday.
