Northumbria Police Detectives have launched a thorough investigation following a distressing incident in Jesmond, Newcastle Upon Tyne where a woman was attacked while walking home in the early hours of Sunday morning. The assault occurred shortly after 3.20am, near Osborne Road, as a 20-year-old woman was making her way along St George’s Terrace.

According to reports, a man wearing a balaclava suddenly accosted the woman, attempting to drag her to the ground. A courageous struggle ensued, allowing the victim to break free and find safety. The assailant fled the scene, leaving the shaken victim behind.
