Major Emergency Call out following two incidents in Portsmouth Harbour Water

Firefighters from Cosham, Fareham and the Water rescue support unit have been called along with a Hart Team from South Central Ambulance and Two Coastguard Search and rescue teams to an incident in the water near Port Solent. Emergency services were called out to the incident just after 10.20pm on Friday evening. It is understood that the emergency service personnel are dealing with someone trapped in mud in the Paulsgrove Lake on Southampton Road near the luxury marina and housing estate. The man has been successfully rescued and transferred by the lifeboat to the shore and left in the care of South Central Ambulance service. Following on from this incident the emergency crews where all re tasked to reports of a despondent male in the water in Portchester. Working alongside a second team from Portsmouth, Hampshire Constabulary. The man safely recovered from the water. A spokesperson for the UK Coastguard said that the incident is a Police-led incident and confirmed that the Police have asked us (the UK Coastguard) to provide resources. We have mobilsed the Gosport and Fareham inshore rescue Lifeboat and a Coastguard Rescue Team. The spokesperson refused to confirm any further detials
