The Metropolitan Police have issued a statement following reports of a street altercation on Wednesday afternoon, confirming that no injuries have been reported and that claims of a stabbing remain unverified.
The incident, which sparked widespread speculation on social media, reportedly took place in the early afternoon. Officers were called to the scene, but those involved had already dispersed by the time police arrived.
“Officers attended but the people had dispersed. A crime scene remained in place for a number of hours whilst enquiries were carried out,” said a spokesperson for the Met Police.
The force confirmed that no victims had come forward and no evidence of a stabbing has been officially confirmed at this stage.
A cordon was erected as part of routine procedure while officers conducted a forensic sweep of the area and took witness statements from bystanders.
Social Media Claims Not Substantiated
Despite claims circulating online suggesting a stabbing may have occurred, police have not confirmed those reports and have urged the public to rely on official updates.
The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with information is urged to call 101 or contact @MetCC on X (formerly Twitter), quoting the relevant incident reference.
