Police Appeal After Attempted Jewellery Robbery at Chatham Bus Stop

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man allegedly tried to rob a woman of her jewellery at a bus stop in Chatham.

The incident happened shortly after 10am on Wednesday, 7 May 2025, at a bus stop on Lords Wood Lane, near Scotby Avenue.

A man reportedly crossed the road and approached a woman, attempting to snatch her jewellery before she managed to get away. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.

Kent Police officers attended the scene, conducted enquiries, and have now launched a public appeal for information.

The suspect is described as white, of average build, clean-shaven, and was wearing blue jeans and a green hooded top with the hood pulled up.

Appeal for Dashcam and Witnesses

Investigators are particularly keen to speak with the driver of a red car who is said to have stopped to help the victim during the incident.

Police are also urging anyone who witnessed the attempted robbery, or who may have dashcam, CCTV, or mobile phone footage, to come forward.
