Girl Suffers Serious Injuries In Collision With Van In Swindon

Police Scotland are appealing to the public for information after a tragic road collision took place on the A90 near Crimond on Saturday, November 18, 2023. The incident occurred at approximately 09:55 and involved a blue Nissan Qashqai car and a white lorry.

Emergency services responded to the scene, where they attended to the driver of the car, a 43-year-old man. The driver was immediately transported to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary by ambulance. Tragically, despite medical efforts, he succumbed to his injuries. The passenger of the car, a 46-year-old woman, was fortunate to escape the collision with no serious injuries and was subsequently released from the hospital.

In connection with the incident, the driver of the lorry, a 41-year-old man, has been arrested by the authorities pending further investigation.

In order to establish a comprehensive understanding of the circumstances surrounding the collision, officers are urging witnesses to come forward with any information they may have. Even the smallest piece of information could prove to be significant in piecing together the events leading up to the crash. Additionally, individuals who were in the area at the time of the collision are requested to review their dash cam footage, as it may provide valuable evidence to aid the ongoing investigation.

Sergeant Alexander Bowser-Riley emphasised the importance of public assistance, stating, “We are in the process of establishing the full circumstances of this collision, and I would ask any members of the public who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision to contact us. Any small piece of information could prove significant.” Sergeant Bowser-Riley further added, “I would also appeal to anyone who was in the area around the time of the collision to check their dash cam for footage as it could assist us in our investigation.”
