Police Appeal for Witnesses Following Shooting in Plumstead – UKNIP

Police are urgently appealing for witnesses after a shooting incident in Plumstead earlier today.

Armed officers rushed to Lakedale Road, near Brewery Road, just before 1:10 PM following reports of a firearm discharge. Initial investigations revealed that a vehicle in the vicinity had suffered damage from the gunfire.

Despite the vehicle damage, no victims have yet been identified. The area of Lakedale Road remains cordoned off as police continue to manage the scene and conduct a thorough investigation.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed that no arrests have been made so far, and enquiries into the circumstances surrounding the shooting are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police stated: “Detectives are appealing for information and witnesses after a shooting in Plumstead. Police were called at about 13:07hrs on Friday, 14 June to reports of a firearm discharge in the vicinity of Lakedale Road, SE18. Officers, including armed officers, attended the scene. No victims have been identified. Initial enquiries led to the recovery of a vehicle that had sustained damage as a result of a firearm discharge. A crime scene remains in place at the location. No arrests have been made and enquiries into the circumstances continue.

Authorities are urging anyone with information or who may have witnessed the incident to come forward. Witnesses can contact police on 101 or via Twitter @MetCC, quoting reference CAD 3592/14Jun. For those wishing to remain anonymous, information can be provided to Crimestoppers.
