Police are investigating after receiving reports of a group of males causing a disturbance at a restaurant and later allegedly threatening a man with a firearm in Islington on Tuesday, 25 February.
The first call to police came in at around 5:35pm, reporting that a group of males were causing a disturbance and threatening staff at a restaurant on White Lion Street, N1. No weapons were seen during this initial incident.
Shortly after, officers received a second call regarding an escalating situation nearby. A man reported being threatened and chased by a group on Great Percy Street, and claimed that one of the males was believed to be in possession of a firearm.
Police Response
Metropolitan Police officers quickly responded to both locations, conducting a thorough search of the area. However, the group had already left the vicinity by the time officers arrived.
A spokesperson for the Met Police stated:
“We were called at about 17:35hrs on Tuesday, 25 February, to reports of a group of males causing a disturbance and threatening staff at a restaurant on White Lion Street, N1. No weapon was seen during the initial incident. A short time later, a second call was received regarding a man being threatened and chased on Great Percy Street, where it was reported that one of the males may have had a firearm.”
“Officers attended and carried out extensive searches, but the group is believed to have left the area. Enquiries are ongoing.”
