Several schools across Northfleet and Gravesend were forced into lockdown this morning after receiving an “email making threats,â prompting a large police presence in the area.
Kent Police confirmed they were alerted by Shears Green Infant School in Packham Road just before 8am after staff received a concerning message. Officers attended the scene, liaised with staff, and reassured the community.
A police spokesperson confirmed the emails are being investigated but are currently considered as a non-credible threat.

Shears Green Infant School declined to comment directly but, in a letter shared on social media, headteacher Matt Paterson stated the school had temporarily closed at short notice as a â€precautionary measure due to messages suggesting the safety of pupils and staff could be at risk.
