Nottinghamshire Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying a man in connection with an upskirting incident reported by a schoolgirl. The incident, which occurred on 19 July 2023, has prompted a thorough investigation to ensure the responsible individual is brought to justice.
The victim, a schoolgirl, was walking along Princes Street in Eastwood when she noticed a man following her. This distressing situation escalated as the man continued to tail her onto Albert Street and Wellington Street, eventually managing to position himself in front of her. It was then that he approached the young girl and surreptitiously took a photograph up her skirt using his mobile phone.
The offender promptly left the scene by taking an alleyway to the rear of Wellington Street around 15.55. The victim, rightfully alarmed by the incident, promptly contacted the police. Subsequently, officers have conducted a series of inquiries and are now releasing an image of a man who could provide valuable information vital to the ongoing investigation.
Police Constable Gerard Masaoy of Nottinghamshire Police expressed the urgency of identifying the individual responsible, stating, “We’re working hard to identify the man responsible for this distressing incident as soon as possible. We believe the man pictured could hold important information about exactly what happened. While incidents of this nature are rare, I want to assure members of the public we take reports of this kind very seriously. This sort of behavior is unacceptable and won’t be tolerated.”
