Police Seek Information After Dangerous Driving Incident in Bognor

Sussex Police are urgently appealing for information following a dangerous driving incident in Bognor that occurred on the evening of January 20.

At approximately 9:10pm, a grey Kia Sportage failed to stop for police officers in Victoria Drive. The vehicle was driven erratically and at high speed through various streets in the town, putting both other road users and pedestrians at significant risk.

After a short pursuit, the driver abandoned the vehicle in Stocker Road and fled the scene on foot. Police immediately launched a search for the suspect but have so far been unable to make an arrest.

Detective Constable Rachel Simpson of Sussex Police said: “This was a dangerous incident where the driver recklessly endangered the lives of others. The vehicle was driven at high speed through Bognor, and the actions of the individual show a complete disregard for public safety.”

“We are urging anyone who may have seen the vehicle or has relevant footage to come forward. Even if you think it’s a small detail, it could be crucial to the investigation.

Police are asking residents and drivers who may have CCTV, dashcam, or doorbell footage from the time of the incident to check their recordings. Any footage that may have captured the vehicle or the driver’s actions could provide vital information to help identify the individual responsible.

If you have any information or footage, please contact Sussex Police quoting serial 1181 of 20/01. You can submit reports via the Sussex Police website or by calling 101. Alternatively, information can be reported anonymously to Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.

Sussex Police are continuing their investigation into the incident and urge the public to remain vigilant.
