Gardaí are intensifying efforts to locate the driver responsible for a fatal hit-and-run incident in Dublin last night that claimed the life of a woman in her 60s. The tragic collision occurred on Phibsborough Road in north Dublin, where the woman was out socialising with her husband.

The incident unfolded just after 21.00 when the vehicle, identified as an 07D Silver Honda Civic, reportedly sped through the junction of the Cross Guns Bridge onto Phibsborough Road. Tragically, the woman, who had been enjoying a meal with her husband, a retired garda, was struck while crossing the road to catch a bus home. The car did not stop, leaving the woman fatally injured.
