In a significant development, a second person has been arrested and charged in connection with the death of Alastair Campbell in Renfrew. The 52-year-old tragically passed away shortly after being discovered with serious injuries in the common close of flats on Renfield Street at approximately 03.00 on Monday, October 30, 2023.
Authorities have taken a 35-year-old man into custody and charged him in relation to the death. He is scheduled to make an appearance at Paisley Sheriff Court on Wednesday, November 8. This arrest adds another dimension to the ongoing investigation.
Previously, a 47-year-old man had been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. He had already appeared at the same court on Friday, November 3.
