Southampton Sports Centre on Lock Down after Body is found in Woodland
Officers from Hampshire Constabulary are currently on scene at the Sports Centre in Southampton following the discovery of a body in woodland this morning Thursday 26 July. Investigations are in the very early stages. Police have asked people to avoid the area whilst officers carry out their investigation. One nearby resident, who did not want to be named, said: “At around 7am I heard a load of screaming and then suddenly the place was flooded with police cars and vans.” A dog walker, who saw the officers, added: “It’s horrible to think of a dead body being found around here, especially because so many families use this area at the weekends because it is so close to the sports centre. “It would have been terrible if a youngster had found it.” More to Follow
