Street on Lockdown in Winchester following Police Incident
Two street in Winchester remain under Police guard this lunchtime following a Police incident. Tower Street and routes onto Staple Gardens are closed are cordon off with officers standing guard at each of the Cordons. It is understood that Police where called to Staple Garden in the City mid morning. Fire fighter rushed to Winchester’s police HQ , closing a city centre road, only for it to be a false alarm. Three crews arrived in Tower Street shortly after 12pm, but found the alarm had been set off by an “overheating electrical” supply, rather than a blaze.
