The STV studios in Glasgow were evacuated on Tuesday evening following the discovery of a suspicious package. Concerns arose when rumours started circulating about the presence of an unidentified item in the car park, prompting authorities to take immediate action.
As a precautionary measure, bomb squads were dispatched to the scene, and the police, who were already present, have established a cordon along Govan Road.
In response to the incident, an STV spokesperson addressed the situation, stating, “Due to a police incident in the area, STV’s offices at Pacific Quay have been evacuated this evening.”
In an updated statement Police Scotland said “Govan Road at Lorne Street, extending to the Clyde Arc Bridge, has been reopened following a police incident in a car park on Govan Road. The matter has been resolved and enquiries are ongoing into the incident.”
