Sussex Police have confirmed that an alleged rape reported to have taken place in Hotham Park, Bognor Regis, last month did not occur following a thorough investigation.
The allegation was initially made by a woman who contacted officers claiming she had been raped overnight between April 20 and 21 in the vicinity of the town’s popular park. In response, police launched a full-scale investigation, deploying considerable resources to gather evidence and provide support to the woman.
