A community is in mourning following the death of a much-loved local character during a race meeting at the Standlake arena in Witney in Oxfordshire
The spectator who has been named as Steve Turner the greatest bloke anyone could ever meet was taken ill.
He received swift medical attention, but sadly passed away.
All involved in the promotion would like to pass on our condolences to the family and friends of the person affected.
They also extend their gratitude to medics, and to all involved with administering care to the much-loved local character on site.
The spokesman for Standlake arena also passed on his thanks to those who helped secure the site for the emergency services and air ambulance. and the understanding and cooperation of those at trackside.
After consultation with all parties involved, they decided that the meeting should conclude as it would be what the person taken ill would have wanted.
