Three Yobs being questioned after Cashpoint is Damaged in Broadstairs

A boy and two girls are in custody after a cash machine was vandalised in Broadstairs. Kent Police was called at around 1am on Friday 18 May to a report that the machine was being targeted outside a supermarket in Hopeville Avenue. Officers attended the area to carry out enquiries, which included the review of CCTV. The cash machine was damaged and the screen was smashed. Nothing was reported stolen. A 14-year-old boy and two girls aged 12 and 13 from Margate were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage just before 6am in the area of Dane Park. All three remain in custody while enquiries are ongoing. Anyone who witnessed the incident who hasn’t yet spoken to police or who has information that could assist the investigation is asked to call Kent Police on 01843 222289 quoting reference 18-0041.
