A 10-year-old schoolgirl has been hospitalized after being viciously attacked by an unregistered XL Bully dog in a garden in Balby, South Yorkshire. The incident, which occurred at 10:15 AM today, has led to the arrest of three individuals, including a 37-year-old woman and two teenagers, ages 13 and 15.
Emergency services responded swiftly to the scene after receiving reports of the attack. Witnesses described the dog as grabbing the child by the head and causing severe injuries to her neck. Thanks to the prompt action of first responders, the bleeding was controlled, and the child was transported to the hospital. While her injuries are serious, they are not believed to be life-threatening.
Chief Inspector Emma Cheney commented on the seriousness of the situation, stating, “This incident could have had a tragic ending and led to a fatality. We continue to urge people to stop thinking ‘it won’t happen to me. Owners need to step up and be responsible, understand their dog, their behaviour and keep everyone safe.
