An urgent health warning has been issued to UK consumers after Cheshire Farm announced a total recall of its popular Caramelised Biscuit Ice Cream due to undisclosed hazelnuts, posing a significant health risk to those with nut allergies.

The Food Standards Agency (FSA) issued the alert today, warning consumers that the affected batches contain hazelnuts not mentioned on the product’s label. This omission could trigger severe allergic reactions in individuals with nut allergies, leading the FSA to strongly advise anyone who purchased the product to stop consuming it immediately.

The following 1L packs of Cheshire Farm Caramelized Biscuit Ice Cream are being recalled:

  • Batch code: L23139 | Best before: 19 November 2024
  • Batch code: L23261 | Best before: 18 March 2025
  • Batch code: L24150 | Best before: 29 November 2025

Shoppers who have purchased any of the above batches are urged to return the product to the store where it was bought for a full refundno receipt is necessary.

FSA Statement on the Health Risk

In its official statement, the Food Standards Agency emphasized the potential severity of this oversight:

“Cheshire Farm is recalling its Caramelized Biscuit Ice Cream due to the presence of hazelnuts, which are not mentioned on the label. This poses a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to nuts. We advise consumers with a nut allergy not to consume the product and to return it to the place of purchase for a full refund.”
