Investigation Continues on Manchester Murder, Two Suspects Detained

Detectives are currently questioning two suspects in connection with the murder of a man on Olympic Street in Beswick, Greater Manchester. The incident occurred yesterday, Saturday, March 16.

Shortly before 11.00 Greater Manchester Police responded to reports of an unresponsive male on Olympic Street. Despite the valiant efforts of emergency services and courageous members of the public, the victim was tragically pronounced deceased.

Initial inquiries suggest that the victim was killed while attempting to prevent his car from being stolen.

This afternoon, on Sunday, March 17, a 35-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and a 43-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. Both suspects remain in custody and will face questioning by detectives.

Detective Chief Inspector Rachel Smith from the GMP Major Incident Team emphasised the gravity of the situation: “At the centre of this investigation is a grieving family, and we are committed to providing them with answers. Our investigation is proceeding swiftly, and our dedicated team of detectives is working relentlessly to piece together the events leading up to this tragic incident.
