Jason Maddocks, 36, has been locked up after a brazen police pursuit that sped through villages and caused chaos across North Wiltshire.

Speeding, Drug Driving and Dangerous Fleeing

The Swansea man pleaded guilty to a string of offences including failing to stop for police, dangerous driving, driving under the influence of drugs, criminal damage, and possession of class A drugs. The chase unfolded on 1 October 2024.

Hundreds of Miles of Mayhem Through Villages and Motorways

Police tried to stop Maddocks’ vehicle in Corsham after info surfaced that a vulnerable missing person from South Wales was inside. The car was spotted again in Chippenham but refused to halt. A nail-biting, high-speed chase raged through Yatton Keynell, Castle Combe, Acton Turville, then onto the M4 motorway, before coming to a stop at Hullavington airfield. Along the way, Maddocks smashed into several vehicles causing extensive damage.

Jail Time and Years Off the Road

Maddocks was arrested, with cocaine found in the car. The missing person was safely recovered. On 14 November, Swansea Crown Court sentenced Maddocks to 14 months behind bars and banned him from driving for three years and seven months.

PC Nick Slade blasted Maddocks’ reckless driving across rural roads crowded with children, cyclists, and horse riders: “He showed zero regard for safety, driving dangerously at speeds over 100mph, even towards oncoming traffic. This behaviour is utterly unacceptable. He rightly faces a jail sentence and a lengthy driving ban to keep others safe.”
