Police have uncovered a large-scale cannabis farm in a Maidstone warehouse, seizing nearly 1,000 cannabis plants following reports of a gas leak.
The discovery was made on Wednesday, 26 February 2025, at around 8:20 pm, when gas engineers carrying out repairs near St Peter’s Street stumbled upon the suspected illegal operation.
Police Raid & Seizure
Kent Police patrol officers were dispatched to the location and found four industrial-sized tents filled with cannabis plants inside the warehouse. A sophisticated heating and ventilation system was also in place, suggesting an organised and well-maintained cultivation setup.

The seized cannabis, which has an estimated street value of £300,000, has been confiscated for destruction.
Suspects Fled the Scene
Before officers arrived, two men were seen fleeing on foot towards Maidstone East train station. Police believe they may have later entered a silver Mercedes near the junction of Buckland Hill and St Peter’s Street.

Investigation & Police Appeal
Kent Police have launched a full investigation and are appealing for information to identify and locate the suspects.
The individuals are described as:
- White men of medium build
- Thinning hair
- One was last seen wearing a short-sleeved grey t-shirt and no shoes
