A Malawi Defence Force Aircraft carrying Vice President Saulos Chilima and nine other passengers has disappeared after failing to make a scheduled landing on Monday morning.

According to a statement from the presidential office and cabinet, the aircraft departed from Lilongwe, the capital of Malawi, at 09:17 local time (03:17 ET). However, it never arrived at its intended destination.
