Emergency services scrambled tonight after an 11-year-old boy went missing in the Niton area of the Isle of Wight. The youngster was last seen at 5pm, sparking a major search operation that lasted several hours.

Massive Search Effort Underway

Hampshire and Isle of Wight Police called in a range of resources, with officers combing houses and garages around the village. A police spokesperson said, “A number of resources have been called to the area to assist officers on the ground.”

Volunteers from Wight Search and Rescue joined the effort, scouring the village outskirts and the recreation ground. Adding aerial support, a National Police Air Service helicopter provided an eye in the sky to aid ground teams.

Missing Boy Found Safe and Sound

At 10.30pm, police confirmed the boy was found safe and well. He has now been reunited with his grateful family.
