Police Launch Urgent Appeal for Wanted Sex Offence Suspect Derek Johnson

Police have launched a nationwide appeal to locate Derek Johnson, 58, who is wanted in connection with multiple sex offences across the UK.

According to Gloucestershire Constabulary, Johnson is suspected of befriending vulnerable victims online before travelling to meet them in person and committing offences. The public is being urged not to approach him and instead contact police immediately if he is seen.

Suspect Absconded After Arrest

Johnson was previously arrested by Hertfordshire Police last month but later absconded from bail. Authorities now believe he could be anywhere in the UK.

The suspect is believed to have committed offences in Kent, Gloucestershire, and potentially other locations. He also has known links to the following areas:

Authorities are urging anyone who may have seen Johnson or has information on his whereabouts to call 101, quoting incident reference 324 of March 3.

If he has been spotted recently or in the last few moments, the public is advised to dial 999 immediately.

A spokesperson for Gloucestershire Constabulary said:

“We are actively searching for Derek Johnson, who is wanted in connection with a number of serious offences. We urge anyone with information to come forward, but we strongly advise the public not to approach him. If you see him, call 999 immediately.”
