Urgent Appeal for Information Regarding Missing Man in River Taff Incident

South Wales Police, along with other emergency services, are currently engaged in a rigorous search operation along the River Taff, following the disappearance of Joshua Shaw, a 23-year-old male, who was last seen entering the river on the evening of Wednesday, December 27.

Despite extensive search efforts conducted by South Wales Police, with the invaluable assistance of the National Police Air Service (NPAS), HM Coastguard, and South Wales Fire and Rescue Service, Joshua Shaw has yet to be located.

Joshua was reportedly wearing a grey hoodie, dark-colored bottoms, and white trainers at the time of his disappearance. The Specialist Search and Rescue Team (SSRT) and NPAS are now actively scouring the length of the River Taff, from Pontypridd down towards Cardiff, in a bid to locate the missing individual.

Neighborhood Policing Inspector Leigh Parfitt has made an appeal for witnesses who may have seen Joshua’s last movements. He stated, “We are appealing for witnesses after Josh was seen entering the River Taff in Pontypridd by Llys Cadwyn on Wednesday night, 27th December, just after 6.05pm. Despite searches by police officers, fire service, and rescue teams, Josh remains missing, and we are concerned for his safety.

Members of the public who possess any information that could aid the ongoing investigation are urged to come forward. South Wales Police have established various means to facilitate the sharing of information, including a live chat service on their official website, an email address ([email protected]), and the non-emergency contact number 101.

In the event of an emergency or if an immediate response is required, individuals are reminded to call 999.
