Urgent Appeal for Missing Dogs After Man Found Dead in Suspected Fatal ‘Attack’ in West Midlands

West Midlands Police have issued an urgent appeal for information after a man was found dead in his garden in Rubery, and two dogs suspected of being involved in the fatal attack are still missing. The police believe that at least one of the dogs may have attacked the man, contributing to his death.

Officers were called to the property in the early hours of Thursday morning, where they discovered the body of the man in the back garden. Two dogs were seized at the scene, but two other dogs that may have been at the address are currently unaccounted for.

A photo of one of the missing dogs, believed to be an American Bulldog-type, has been released by West Midlands Police. The force is also searching for a second dog, described as black and similar in appearance to the one pictured.

Investigation Underway

Police have confirmed that none of the dogs involved are believed to be of a banned breed. However, they are urging the public to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the missing animals immediately.

The investigation is ongoing, with officers conducting house-to-house inquiries, reviewing CCTV footage, and deploying specialist dog units and drones in the search for the animals. The search efforts are focused on locating the dogs before any further harm can occur.

A spokesperson for West Midlands Police said:

“We have obtained images of one of the dogs we’re looking for and are also searching for another similar dog, described as black. We are using every resource at our disposal, including specialist dog officers and drones, to find these animals as quickly as possible.

Community on High Alert

The incident has left the Rubery community on edge, with residents expressing shock and concern about the potential danger posed by the missing dogs. Police have advised locals to avoid approaching the animals if spotted and to contact authorities immediately.

The identity of the deceased man has not yet been released, and police are working to establish the full circumstances surrounding his death. Further details are expected as the investigation continues.

Anyone with information about the missing dogs or who may have seen them is urged to contact West Midlands Police directly.
