Merseyside Police are urgently seeking witnesses after a hit-and-run incident in Maghull this morning left a cyclist with life-threatening injuries. The incident occurred at approximately 06:55 GMT on Northway, near the Shell petrol station.

Reports indicate that a cyclist collided with a car, believed to be a Skoda Octavia, which subsequently fled the scene. The male cyclist, aged in his 50s, sustained severe injuries and has been transported to the hospital for treatment. Consequently, road closures are currently in place in the vicinity as investigators work to establish the circumstances surrounding the collision.
