Firefighters raced to tackle a boat fire at Brighton Marina in the early hours of Monday morning (10 March).
Early Morning Alarm and Rapid Response
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service sprang into action after receiving a distress call at 3:54am reporting a blaze on a vessel at the West Jetty Marina.
Four fire engines arrived on the scene. Crews battled the fierce flames using two low-pressure pumps and three main jets.
Residents Warned, No Injuries Reported
Local residents and visitors were urged to steer clear of the marina while emergency teams tackled the fire. Nearby buildings were told to keep windows and doors shut as a safety precaution.
Thankfully, no casualties were reported during the incident.
Fire Under Control and Cause Confirmed
By 6:11am, firefighters had the blaze under control and issued a stop message before handing over to the marina staff.
Officials confirmed the fire was accidental, bringing some relief after a tense night at Brighton’s popular waterfront.
