A 59-year-old Hove man has been locked up after terrorising women with a chilling series of public sexual assaults.

Fattah Derrahi, of Farm Road, pleaded guilty to 11 counts of sexual assault against different women between September 2021 and October 2025, the court heard.

Predator Targets Women with Fake Fitness Tips

Derrahi preyed on lone women out exercising or walking alone. He approached them with fake fitness, breathing, or well-being advice.

His usual pitch? Compliments on their “energy” or physical form before making unwanted advances.

On several occasions, he claimed to be demonstrating stretches or movements — using the ruse to grope his victims.

Pattern of Abuse Finally Busted

Lewes Crown Court heard Derrahi’s attacks formed a clear, sinister pattern over the years, with victims suffering repeated assaults.

After several women bravely spoke out, Sussex Police linked the attacks and zeroed in on Derrahi. He was arrested, charged, and confessed to all offences.

Justice at Last – Victims Commended for Courage

Derrahi has been sentenced to prison, ending his calculated campaign of abuse.

“We want to praise the bravery of all victims who came forward. Your courage was crucial in bringing this offender to justice,”

said Sussex Police.

Officers urged anyone affected by similar assaults to report them. They stressed every complaint will be taken seriously and fully investigated.
