Catford was rocked by two stabbing attacks within hours and just metres apart early this morning (October 15). Meanwhile, Islington saw a brutal double stabbing that left two teenagers fighting for their lives.

Teen Fights for Life After Islington Double Stabbing

Just past midnight, police were scrambled to Essex Road, Islington, after reports of a violent brawl between several men.
Shockingly, just five hours later at 8am, police were called again nearby at Mountsfield Park where another man was stabbed and taken to hospital. His condition remains unknown.

Officers are investigating whether the two Catford stabbings are linked.

Community in Fear as Violence Spirals

Locals are terrified after the twin attacks.

“It’s getting worse lately. You can see gangs dealing drugs. Night time is too much,” said neighbours Isabel and Tony. “I have a 20 year old daughter and I’m always scared when she says, ‘Mum, I’m going to meet my friend.’”

The man who died has not been named, but friends say his family is “broken” by the loss.

No arrests have been made in any of these chilling incidents. Lewisham Borough Commander Trevor Lawry said:

“Our thoughts go out to the family and friends of this young man who have lost someone they love in such a tragic way. A dedicated homicide team is working hard to piece together what happened this morning.”
